IZMIR EUROPEAN JAZZ FESTIVAL
The event, which started as Izmir European Jazz Days during the period when Turkey’s EU membership began to be frequently discussed, expanded its scope and took the name Izmir European Jazz Festival during the accelerated process following our acceptance into the Customs Union.
The aim of the Festival, which we will hold for the 32nd time on March 5-24, 2025, is to bring together jazz artists from Europe and Turkey who have achieved significant developments in their fields and to spread this culture to wide audiences. While jazz artists from France, Germany, Switzerland and Italy meet with Izmir jazz lovers, a large number of young audiences find the opportunity to listen to, understand, learn and love European Jazz.
The greatest distinction of the Izmir European Jazz Festival is that it is education-oriented. Artists who come to give concerts at the festival transfer their experience to young artists from Izmir through workshops and master classes. Two successful young people participating in the workshops attend the Siena Summer Jazz Master Classes courses in Italy on scholarship through the cooperation of Siena Jazz Foundation and IKSEV. To date, 21 young people have benefited from this opportunity. Additionally, for the last 22 years, the official poster of the festival has been selected through the Jazz Poster Competition, which is organized for young designers and participated in by talents from all over Turkey.
Izmir European Jazz Festival is a member of EJN.

VENUES
Ahmed Adnan Saygun Center consists of 3 main sections: City Square, Culture Platform and Art Center. The center features a 243-seat hall in addition to the main hall, and exhibition spaces spread across three floors connected by bridges. The architect Tevfik Tozkoparan, author of the project, has transformed what was once a trolleybus garage and maintenance workshop, now only a memory, into a center for artistic activities.
AASSM stands out with its concert hall implemented with a meticulous acoustic project, as well as its spacious galleries that will host plastic arts and contemporary art. The concert hall, which is the jewel of AASSM, has emerged as a truly eye-catching concert hall from the design stage to its implementation. Many fine details have been carefully implemented, including the acoustic project undertaken by the experienced British firm ARUP, and the structure of the platform on which the orchestra will be positioned, designed according to the instruments to be played on it.
