INTERNATIONAL INSTRUMENT MAKING WORKSHOP

Izmir Culture, Arts and Education Foundation (IKSEV) was established in 1985 to undertake all kinds of initiatives for the research, examination, creation, learning, teaching, preservation and dissemination of culture and arts to the masses. Since its establishment, the Foundation has continuously organized the International Izmir Festival every year. It has also been organizing the Izmir European Jazz Festival since 1993. Izmir Culture, Arts and Education Foundation, which has made very important contributions to the formation of the urban identity of Izmir, a city with an 8000-year history that has been the birthplace of many civilizations throughout history, organizes national competitions in addition to festivals. The National Composition Competition, held biennially in the name of its founding president Dr. Nejat F. Eczacıbaşı, has contributed over 150 symphonic works to our polyphonic music to date.

IKSEV, which has an important place and experience in the international music community with the International Izmir Festival, aims to transfer this experience to young generations. It continues its work, which began with Igor Oistrakh’s Master Class, by bringing together professional artists with student artists. Master classes and workshops have been held with Amnon Weinstein, Joshua Epstein, Tuncay Yılmaz, Gisela Bullacher, Valery Oistrakh, Tedi Papavrami, Akira Jimbo, Rex Richardson, Şirin Pancaroğlu, Dora Schwarzberg, Gökhan Aybulus, Gülsin Onay, Mehmet Balkan, Mary Wilson, Male Instrumenty, Gürer Aykal, Zafer Baykal, Sasha Stanov, Furio Di Castri Quartet, Rafal Olbinski, Timuçin Şahin Quartet, Janusz Prusinowski Trio, Maciej Obara International Quintet, Uli Kempendorf Quartet, Kerem Görsev, Yuri Honing Acoustic Quartet, Edmar Castaneda, Marcin Wasilewski Trio, Pablo Held Trio, Mauro Grossi Quintets, Uwe Kropinski Joe Sasche, Livio Minafra Quartet, ICP Orchestra (Instant Composers Pool), Egg Project Quartet, Luigi Campoccia Quartet, Siena Jazz Quartet, Ricardo Luppi, Vincenzo Mingliardi, Roberto Bonati, Roberto Dani, Alessandro Girotto, Ilaria Patassini, Gianluca Cassadei, Gianfranco Benigi, Stefano Cesare, Fulvio Maras, Claudio Fasoli & Antonio Zambrini, Thomas Wallisch & Oli Bott, Nikos Touliatos, Roberto Masotti, Mario Raja, Bruno Tommaso, Marvi La Spina, Martha Graham Dance Company.
