KNOBIL
Louise Knobil, contrabass
Vincent Andreas, drums
Cholé Marsigny, composition, clarinet
Double bassist, singer and composer Louise Knobil invites you to dive into her world, where jazz, punk, glitter and French chanson merge with sparkling, daring energy. Inspired by iconic figures such as Esperanza Spalding, Charles Mingus and Boris Vian, this young artist transforms her diary into a unique musical adventure. Polyamory, chronic insomnia and pesto recipes come together in compositions that are both personal and universal. Her impertinent melodies, combining double bass and vocals, gain intensity thanks to the talent of her loyal “knodisciples”: Chloé Marsigny on bass clarinet and effects, and Vincent Andreae on drums. Vincent Andreae, drumms
Vincent Andreae is a Swiss drummer born in Geneva in 1995. He developed a passion for drumming at a young age and, after studying civil engineering, decided to devote himself full-time to music. He obtained a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Jazz Drumming Performance and Composition at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne. During these various tours, Vincent Andreae played in numerous renowned clubs and festivals, with around a hundred concerts to his credit that year. Chloé Marsigny, Composition, Clarinet
Chloé Marsigny, a French composer and clarinettist from Haute Savoie, was born in 1994 and currently lives in Paris. Her musical journey began at the age of 7 when she started playing the clarinet. She currently plays and composes for her sextet, while also being a member of various projects such as KNOBIL Swing Box, Captain Valentine, Mastic and Merlin et les maîtres de l’air. She also collaborates with several musicians from the Swiss gypsy jazz scene. Throughout her teenage years, she explored the intricacies of early 20th-century jazz, drawing inspiration from greats such as Benny Goodman, Count Basie and Louis Armstrong. After studying science in a preparatory mathematics class followed by a stint at a university institute of technology, she decided to devote all her energy to music. She enrolled at the Annecy Conservatory, where she studied jazz from 2012 to 2016 under the tutelage of saxophonist Richard Foy. It was at this point that she joined her first bands and opened up to a variety of musical genres, notably late 20th-century jazz fusion. She launched her first band, a cover project dedicated to the music of the Mahavishnu Orchestra, entitled ‘Have You Met Mr John?’. Her commitment to music led her to enrol at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne in 2016, where she obtained a DEM in Jazz. She successfully continued her studies there, obtaining a master’s degree in Jazz performance and composition in 2021, followed by a second master’s degree in instrumental pedagogy in 2023. The eclecticism of her career and her undeniable talent make Chloé Marsigny a promising and versatile figure on the contemporary music scene.
