LA CHAPELLE SAUVAGE
La Chapelle Sauvage is an artistic house with many rooms.
Founded by Belgian conductor Karel De Wilde, La Chapelle Sauvage is an international ensemble of young professional musicians. What gathers them together is a wild and untameable musical ambition with a contemporary, critical and reflective attitude. In addition to a large classical repertoire, they gladly venture beyond the conventional with a creative, contemporary, and demanding approach. Notwithstanding the solid core, their instrumentation continually modifies according to their repertoire, which includes a wide variety of chamber music as well as works for symphony orchestra, and regularly collaborates with choirs and international soloists. Ever in search of a creative and responsible performance, using the knowledge and techniques which are known to us today.
KAREL DE WILDE conductor
Karel studied piano, organ, harpsichord and double bass at a young age, and subsequently organ, music theory and orchestral conducting at the Royal Conservatories of Ghent and Mons. He is regarded as one of Belgium’s most promising new conductors. Karel is currently artistic director and the main conductor of the orchestra La Chapelle Sauvage as well as artistic director of Red Events Belgium. Karel has conducted a large repertoire of symphony, opera, chamber music, orchestral, cantata, oratorio and musical productions. He has many successful collaborations as conductor, composer and artistic manager with numerous international soloists, orchestras and choirs. INTERSTELLAR
Main Theme: Shaped by the collaboration between Zimmer and Nolan, this score uses a massive church organ to depict the infinity of space and the weight of time. It tells the story of human curiosity and a father’s promise to his child.
