European Festivals Association

The EFFE platform and festivals need to be visible in Europe and beyond. For this very reason it is coordinated by the European Festivals Association (EFA), a network founded in 1952 in Geneva, Switzerland, by conductor Igor Markevitch and philosopher Denis de Rougemont. EFA now has members from 41 countries, including more than 100 music, dance, theatre and multidisciplinary festivals, national festival associations and cultural organisations.

Steering Committee

A steering committee made up of the EFFE partners makes sure that everyone is on the same page, and meets regularly to discuss how the programme is run, financed and assessed, and to develop the implementation of its long-term strategy.
