JAZZ AND COLLAGE WORKSHOP
Executive: Engin Çetinkaya
The interaction between music and painting is both powerful and myriad. For example, Kandinsky was highly inspired by classical music in his paintings, and Jackson Pollock was inspired by jazz, whereas, Miles Davis draws attention with both his impressive paintings as well as his jazz musicianship.
The Jazz and Collage Workshop aims to establish connections between painting (visual arts) and jazz music with the collage technique that painters such as Pablo Picasso and George Braque began to use in the early 20th century. Creative compositions will be produced by cutting ready-made (waste) materials such as paper and fabric and sticking them on to the painting surface, as in collage technique.
