The seventh "Dr. Nejat F. Eczacıbaşı National Composition Contest" organized by İzmir Foundation for Culture Arts and Education (İKSEV) was held in 2008.

The first Evaluation Meeting of the sixth contest in which 14 works applied was held in Istanbul on October 25, 2008 Saturday.

Gürer Aykal, Rengim Gökmen, Turgay Erdener and Hasan Uçarsu participated in the meeting as members of the Selective Board that was chaired by Yalçın Tura.

In accordance with the conditions and evaluation method indicated in the specification, the compositions of the composers named below went on to the finals to be vocalized at the "Contest Concert":

·       Yiğit Kolat,

·       Koray Sazlı,

·       Fazlı Orhun Orhon.

On Saturday, December 5, 2008, works performed by the Izmir State Symphony Orchestra under the conductorship of İbrahim Yazıcı at the "Contest Concert" were presented to the audience, the orchestra and the selection committee, as a result of evaluation of points by participatory voting conducted under the supervision of notary,

·       The first prize was given to Yigit Kolat, for his work “Kasımpatları”,

·       The second prize was given to Fazlı Orhun Orhon, for his work “Piyano Konçertosu”,

·       The third prize was given to Koray Sazlı, for his work “Anısına”.
